 Tui Na (Massage Therapy)

An Ancient Modality

Tui Na (pronounced "Twee- Nah") is the 3rd Branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is believed to be the oldest form of bodywork.
In this form we work along meridians (energy channels) throughout the whole body. Different modalities such as, stretching, shaking, activating pressure points, and joint rotations are used to break up stagnation and balance the body’s vital energy (qi).
Tui Na can relieve acute chronic pain of the joints, bones, muscles and tendons caused by injuries, surgery, or stress. Also will help harmonize digestion system, and mental/emotional imbalances, overall this form of massage will work on all levels of mind, body, and spirit.
It is traditionally practiced on fully clothed clients. Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended to ensure we can move your joints through the full range of motion.
I look forward to working with you!

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Fire Cupping

Balance Your Chi (Vital Energy)

Cupping is a great way to help the flow of energy and blood and to release deep rooted imbalances within the body. It has been used for centuries as a form of medical treatment in Egypt, Greece as well as China.
Cupping is beneficial for individuals with injuries, pain, and inflammation, as well as stress, anxiety, and other emotional disharmonies.

Gua Sha

An Ancient Science

Gua Sha is a tool used to rub the skin’s surface in long strokes. The purpose is to help move energy around the body. It  helps with circulation, increases blood flow, breaks up scar tissue, and generally improve the health of the entire body.

Moxa

Moxibustion

Heal with warmth

Moxibustion or Moxa is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves burning an herb called Mugwort to promote healing. Moxibustion has been used throughout Asia for thousands of years.
It helps to warm areas of the body by stimulating circulation and lymphatic flow.

Homemade Remedies

Chinese Herbal Liniments

Balance Your Chi

Herbal liniments help to heal stagnant muscles and joints, and to relieve arthritis, bruises, and sprains. These hand-crafted preparations contain extracts of traditional Chinese herbs soaked in an alcohol base.
These liniments are powerful tools that can be used to speed healing and reduce symptoms. Liniments help reduce inflammation and swelling while breaking up stagnant fluids, and promoting blood circulation to the injured area. All of these tinctures are made from high grade Chinese herbs that I have personally tended to for months to ensure the most potent and pure forms are used.

Infrared Sauna

Natural Healing

Infrared Sauna ~ Infrared saunas are a type of sauna that uses heat and light to help relax and detoxify the body. Also called far-infrared saunas or near-infrared saunas, these omit infrared light waves that create heat in the body, causing you to sweat and release stored “toxins.”  Anti-aging effects, increased detoxification, pain reduction, joint and muscle support, and cardiovascular healing are currently where infrared saunas are gaining the most attention. They’re believed to have a parasympathetic healing effect, which means they help the body handle stress better — an attribute that could mean one day they’re used for handling all types of diseases from insomnia and depression to hormonal imbalances and autoimmune disorders.

BEMER Therapy

Included with Tuina and Cupping Session

Bemer Therapy ~ BEMER is short for “bio-electromagnetic energy regulation”. This technology is classified as a noninvasive biophysical class I medical device that harnesses low-level pulsed electromagnetic fields to support the human body’s natural healing mechanisms. The electromagnetic pulses prompt molecular activity in the body’s cells, stimulate muscles, and temporarily increase local blood circulation to areas of application. The key to BEMER therapy is a careful pattern of low-frequency electromagnetic pulses. Applying these electromagnetic signals pulses to the body allows for stimulation and improved circulation in the smallest blood vessels, or microcirculation. Increased blood flow in these blood vessels contributes to a greater supply of oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to cells, tissues, and organs.
